I deleted the weekly email, how do I sign-up for an event?

No, problem as a OHMGA member, you go Click Tournament, then Open Sign Up on using our website or phone app to sign up easily.

Once we finish the tournament round, do I need to input these scores into GHIN?

Yes, you need to immediately post your scores to GHIN.

Is there any deadline to sign up for a tournament?

You can sign up for a tournament as late as the last day you will can plan. We encourage you to sign up prior to arriving at the golf course, but if you sign up the same day, you can enter scores, but you will not see your name on the leaderboard until the evening as we need to refresh the leaderboard.

If I win an event, what do I need to do?

You do not need to do anything special if you win. However, in order to be eligible you need to have posted your score to GHIN and send us your scorecard telling us it correct. We expect you can do both of them immediately after your round.

Can one person sign up for our foursome, twosome, threesome?

The good news is yes. Just like one person gets the tee times for the weekly group, one person can sign up for weekly tournament play. If you decide to do this, when the weekly email requests if you want to participate, then Player A can sign up Player B, Player C and Player D or whatever number plans to play.

I am new to the club, how can I get a game?

There are three things we encourage you to do: 1) Call the Pro Shop because they see if there are open tee times with members; 2) Send a group email and ask for a game, using OHMGA@gaggle.email and it will send a group email address to the league or 3) Go to our member directory and see who you might know to partner up. Our group is very social, so you will absolutely find a game!

Do I also need to tell you the actual date we are playing? Why? Why? C’mon Why?

Yes, this is a money tournament and people on the weekends pretty much are locked in when they will play. We want a record of when you expect to play. You need to set up tee times in advance and since you need to play with another member, we want you to plan in advance, especially since many get tee times in advance. Declaring when you have to play in advance is fair, it’s a tournament with money on the line. We are very sensitive to this topic because when we surveyed the group this topic (accountability/fairness) was top of mind for literally everyone in the league.

Well, can I change the date I plan to play?

Yes, of course. Life happens and things occur, so yes you can change the expected date you plan to play. It will happen times during the year. However, you CANNOT start to play and then stop and play the same tournament another day. It is NOT acceptable, it’s not fair to the field. So, if you say in advance BEFORE you play that you plan to change the date, there is no problem.

But I don’t know my schedule all the time why can’t I get pure flexibility?

You do have flexibility and we get it; stuff happens. However, 90-95% of time you’ll set things up and you’ll play. This is our requirement because unlike OHMGA, most other leagues play weekends or just one day a week. Will it rain at times yeah, will I need to let the cable guy in, yeah, will my wife say you’re not playing today, yeah? Stuff happens but we are planning for the norm and not the exception.

Do I need to sign into the Golf Genius app if I am not playing?

No, the only time you need to use the app is when scoring or looking at the leaderboard. However, you can access the website through your phone app by signing in and then click Member Portal.

Ok, how will we monitor if people start and play another day?

We ask that you start the process to score your round even if you decide to input your scores at the end of the round. So, at the beginning of tournament play, just sign-in and if you decide to score later, put your phone away.

We now have a record that you started to play and when, plus an audit trail for the team. This should not be a big deal, because you must input scores after your round anyway. It also is an app that does not drain your battery.  Also, for those who remember, this is similar to grabbing a blue scorecard before the round, except this is even easier. If you can’t do this. then you risk disqualification. We spot audit and we want to be fair to all people in the field.

Yes, we trust you all, but we also listened to you all as well, about monitoring the field.
